This large 1920s detached house is situated on the outskirts of Woldingham in the Surrey Green Belt. The house had undergone a series of unsympathetic alterations which had resulted in a confused internal layout and living spaces which were detached from the large rear garden.

We were asked by the client to modernise the appearance of the house and design a new extension that provided a direct link with the garden and views to the hillside beyond.  In addition they wanted to upgrade the existing building fabric to modern standards of insulation.

Our design proposed a new kitchen/dining/living space at lower ground floor which opened directly onto the garden, re-planning the interior ground floor, and remodelling and insulating the exterior elevations.
